It doesnвЂ™t run on the mac (unless you partition it and install windows) It doesnвЂ™t run on virtual machine. Naviswork Manage is the highest version and it does everything Freedom and Simulate does plus it adds the ability to do clash detection and clash management. NWD les viewed with Navisworks Freedom(free software) give everybody equal access to explore and experience the whole project. Navisworks Simulate does everything that Freedom does but it also allows you to do quantity takeoff, put annotations, save viewpoints and export combined models. It allows you to view, navigate, measure and section a model that has been compiled. Navisworks Freedom is one of three versions of Navisworks (the others are Simulate and Manage). Navisworks takes all those different formats (CAD/BIM data) and puts them together into one model. Each one of this software has their own proprietary format. Each trade or each design team member makes his own model and they do that with their own software. Navisworks doesnвЂ™t create models but it combines them and allows them to be viewed and navigated, measured and analyzed, all together in one environment.Д«efore we can do anything in Navisworks we need a model. For us, it was enough to have Navisworks Freedom installed in all relevant workstations and have only the Clash Detection Constultant do his job and to send us the file so each spacialty (Architecture, Structre, MEP.) could follow up on the markups and solve the issues.Autodesk Navisworks Freedom is the free viewer for NWD (Navisworks drawing file) and DWF (Autodesk Design Review) file formats. Luckily, only the consultant in charge of the clash and collision detection had to assume this license price.

The program chosen to do this was Autodesk Navisworks.ДЄs with almost all Autodesk Products, the license price is quite expensive (~$10,000). I was working recently in a project where collision detection was needed to ensure that the work done by architects, structural engineers and MEP Engineers was fitting with each other.
